About the ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ

The world’s largest veterinary specialty organization, the ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ (ACVIM) holds the ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ annually as the premier event for those interested in veterinary internal medicine and for members of the college’s six specialties to connect: including cardiology, large animal internal medicine, neurology, nutrition, oncology and small animal internal medicine. These members, known as Diplomates, as well as candidates working toward Board-certification in these specialties, come together at the ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ to present and hear the latest developments in veterinary specialty medicine over the course of four days. Veterinary professionals who are not members of the ACVIM are also encouraged to attend, including specialists from other colleges, general practitioners, technicians, students, interns and more.

In addition to four days packed with high-quality educational sessions, the ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ provides abundant opportunities for networking between attendees over the course of the conference: including a Specialty Symposium and Reception, happy hours, luncheons, dedicated lounges and more. Attendees are encouraged to network with industry partners in the Solutions Center exhibit hall, where they can meet company representatives, discover new products and learn about the latest developments in the veterinary field.

Whether this is your first time exploring the ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ or you are a regular attendee, you can expect outstanding educational opportunities and time spent with both new and familiar colleagues. Please explore the ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ website to learn more about attending, schedule details, exhibiting and sponsorship and much more!

History

Careful planning, quality programs and an atmosphere appropriate for a first class meeting has always been the hallmark of the ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ.

The first ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ was held in 1983 in New Orleans with just 350 attendees. The purpose of the meeting was to bring state-of-the-art information to veterinarians, and through the Forum, the ACVIM grew by 600 members between 1981 and 1993. With only four sessions at the first meeting, the ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ has now grown to attract thousands of attendees with hundreds hours of CE credits.
